Forensic Mental Health Evaluations are available to VIRGINIA residents/cases only. Evaluation requests must be attorney, employer, school, and or officer of the court initiated. 

If you are the requesting agency, please email hello@humanitascounseling.org. Rachel Ann Dine, LPC, CFMHE does not provide “self-referred” forensic mental health or substance abuse evaluations or stand alone psychological testing, and works in conjunction with the above agencies to provide forensic mental health and substance abuse evaluations.

How does this process work?

Upon receiving your request for a forensic mental health or substance use evaluation, Rachel Ann will reach out to you directly for a pre-appointment call to gain a better understanding of the nature of your request and to ensure it falls within the scope of current practice.

Where will we meet?

Rachel Ann Dine provides evaluations through her secure telehealth video platform or at a designated facility (depending on the nature of the evaluation). Utilizing Simple Practice HIPAA compliant video conferencing system is convenient, secure, and can be downloaded on your smartphone or accessed via desktop computer. By offering meetings via telehealth, Rachel Ann is able to meet with individuals in all areas of the state of Virginia. 

**Please know not everyone is appropriate for meeting via telehealth and this decision is at the discretion of Rachel Ann Dine upon consulting with you about specific needs.

How long does this process take?

The forensic evaluation process consists of a comprehensive clinical interview, testing, and obtaining collateral contact sources. Appointment lengths vary depending on nature of evaluation (but typically require at least 4 hours minimum of meeting with examinee). Additional time is also required to review pertinent documents, obtain collateral contact interviews, interpret tests, and write a comprehensive report. 


Finalized reports are provided within 7 business days of evaluation appointment.

WHAT IS NEEDED PRIOR TO YOUR APPOINTMENT:

At least 72 business hours prior to your appointment, we must receive any supporting documentation you have regarding your specific legal or administrative issue. All documents can be uploaded into our secure system and both examinee and requesting agency are provided portal access. Supporting documents typically include: arrest records if applicable, documentation from Human Resources if applicable, the names of 3 collateral contacts, and completion of all informed consent documents & contract for services. If this is a court/employer/attorney initiated evaluation, Rachel Ann will speak with you directly and provide access to contracts for service.

FEES & PAYMENT POLICY:

Please contact hello@humanitascounseling.org for current rates. Rates vary depending on evaluation needed. Payment is expected at time of service and prior to receiving comprehensive report with findings and recommendations, payment in full must be received. Health insurance plans do not cover forensic mental health and substance abuse evaluations.

ABOUT RACHEL ANN DINE, LPC, LMHC, CFMHE, CFNIP

Rachel Ann Dine is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Board Certified Forensic Mental Health Evaluator, Certified Forensic Neuroscience Informed Practitioner, and Virginia State Registered Clinical Supervisor. 

Rachel Ann Dine entered the mental health field in 2005 and obtained her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Psychology. Over the course of her career, Rachel Ann has worked in a variety of mental health settings from long term inpatient residential psychiatric hospital, short term crisis stabilization unit, medication assisted treatment, emergency department, military and family life counseling, has been named a subject matter expert on psychiatric disorders in children and written courses distributed nationally for hospital based training curriculum. She currently owns her mental health private practice, Humanitas Counseling and Consulting, LLC.

Rachel Ann has also obtained additional education and credentials to include certifications as a Forensic Mental Health Evaluator and Forensic Neuroscience Informed Practitioner. Rachel Ann also completed the necessary training to become a Registered Supervisor for Residents in Counseling in the state of Virginia. You will find Rachel Ann offers excellent written and oral communication skills, ethical and honest practice in the field of mental health and participation in legal work, and confidence in report writing and assessment. Rachel Ann is currently licensed to practice in both Virginia and Florida. *Curriculum vitae can be supplied upon request.
