Rachel Ann Dine, LPC, LPCC is currently in network with:
Optima/Sentara Commercial Health Insurance (Virginia clients only)
Due to many limitations imposed on providers and clients by health insurance plans, Rachel Ann Dine, LPC, LPCC is an out of network provider for all other plans (see below for a step by step guide on how to use your Out of Network benefits!). This means she does not bill health insurance directly, but can provide you a one page document after each appointment to submit to your insurance carrier which allows you to use your Out of Network benefits if applicable.
No. Using Out of Network benefits is an option you can take advantage of, but there is no requirement for you to submit anything to your health insurance, especially if you are concerned about confidentiality or potential auditing of your records by a health insurance plan.

A great time to seek out counseling is if you feel you could use a neutral, non-biased source of support in your life. Experiencing high stress or a major upset in your life are also excellent times to reach out. Counseling may benefit you if you typically handle stressors well, but lately notice you feel off or are struggling to bounceback emotionally. Counseling is a great place to explore and talk through what’s been going on with a neutral party. Having the space to process emotions, get to root causes, and receive individualized feedback is a powerful process.
Meeting frequency and length of time varies from person to person. You may start out meeting once a week or once every two weeks, then maybe move to every month to have an emotional pulse check, talk through time specific stressors, and continue to improve on certain personal goals. Rachel Ann wants her clients to create meaningful and fulfilling lives. She seeks to empower you to know when you’re ready to take a step back from counseling, or continue on in the journey in some way.
Counseling is not an overnight process and it is not a “magic cure.” You may feel “lighter” after the first session or two from the sheer act of catharsis, or the releasing of emotions, but typically, change can take time. If you’re in a place of high motivation to get to the bottom of what has been happening, or are ready to target specific areas for improvement, then this can greatly aid in the outcome of counseling.
If you have health insurance, most plans offer the option to use Out of Network benefits.
1. Contact your insurance plan by calling the number on the back of your insurance card and inquire about whether or not your plan includes out of network benefits, or log into your plan’s dashboard and usually, there will be a section that says “out of network benefits.”
2. Typically if your plan lists out of network benefits, there will be a section that says “deductible.” This is the number that must be met prior to your plan reimbursing you for out of network costs. This number ranges per plan but for example, if your deductible for out of network benefits is $300, this would mean that after approximately 2 appointments with Rachel Ann, your health insurance plan will reimburse you a percentage of OR full amount you pay a provider.
3. Identify what the percentage is. Typically, this number also ranges but should be listed in your health insurance online portal or by calling the number on the back of your card and asking the representative what percentage is covered after the deductible is met.
4. When you attend each appointment with Rachel Ann, the cost of service is paid at time of appointment. After each appointment, she will provide you a one page document that you can submit to your plan to apply towards your deductible and so that you begin receiving reimbursement for out of network costs! Often times this document (called a Superbill) can be submitted online through your health insurance portal or via mail.
In short, it depends. Rachel Ann’s goal for every client is to empower you to utilize the skills discussed in therapy and increase your sense of self-confidence to feel capable facing challenges. For some, this can look like coming to therapy weekly to target a very specific issue and for others, it looks like a longer term therapy relationship to achieve a variety of goals or receive support surrounding several different issues that may be or have occurred.
Every person Rachel Ann meets with receives a therapeutic experience that is tailored to their specific goals and current needs.
