Ask yourself the following…
Do you ever have times where you lie awake at night running through conversations you had throughout the day?
Feel like it’s hard to shut your brain off? Scrutinize what you said, how you believe you came across to someone, or experience negative, untrue thoughts about yourself?
Worry about situations that haven’t happened yet?
Feel the tell tale rapid heart rate, sweating, and overwhelm that comes with feeling anxious or experiencing a panic attack?
Whether it’s learning to reframe (and change!) negative thoughts of self, discovering the grounding exercises that work for YOU to help reduce panic, or tracing the triggers for anxiety so you have a concrete plan of action on how to face an anxiety provoking situation, anxiety therapy with Rachel Ann Dine, LPCC, LPC is tailored to you and your specific needs. We will create a therapeutic plan of action to help you feel more inner peace and learn skills you can confidently implement in your life.
Generalized anxiety often includes those all encompassing (and frustrating!) worries that come up across multiple areas of life and seem to stick around for weeks or months at a time. You may even experience the uncomfortable physical symptoms such as nausea, hot flashes, trembling, and stomach problems.
This is one side of anxiety that Rachel Ann is specialized in helping you manage and tame. It can be done and she has helped many women over the years put panic in remission and feel equipped to face a variety of anxiety provoking situations (i.e. dealing with confrontation, increasing public speaking skills, managing driving anxiety, changing jobs, taking action on making healthy life changes).
This is a form of anxiety that isn’t always addressed or discussed yet it is SO common in high achieving women: high functioning anxiety.
High Functioning anxiety often masks itself behind perfectionism, high achieving tendencies, and having difficulty in slowing down and enjoying life.
The tricky part about high functioning anxiety is that it is often reinforced due to the high standards a person puts on themselves to be productive, be on time, always show up, and “go the extra mile.” What others do not see is the exhaustion and worry that is experienced internally.
Most women with high functioning anxiety are already doing all “the things.” Working out, trying to create healthy relationships, spending time with friends, therefore, counseling for women with high functioning anxiety looks a bit different. Rachel Ann’s clinical specialty is on compassionately helping you identify the underlying root causes of high functioning anxiety (knowledge is power!), intimately understanding where self-doubt is coming from, and increasing your sense of balance and inner peace.
Common Goals for Taming and Working through High Functioning Anxiety:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy seeks to address the link between thoughts, behaviors, and actions and has long been considered the gold standard treatment approach for anxiety management. Rachel Ann Dine, LPCC, LPC heavily utilizes techniques of CBT in a down to earth and compassionate way to help women better manage symptoms of Generalized Anxiety, Panic, and High Functioning Anxiety. There are several core principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy that include: understanding and recognizing the thoughts you may be having (identifying whether or not these thoughts are helpful or unhelpful), learning to reframe unhelpful thoughts (practice self-compassion!), understanding learned behaviors + breaking patterns of behavior that may be contributing to anxiety symptoms, and the development of coping strategies on a mental, emotional, and physical level to alleviate anxiety!
Live life in a way that honors YOU. Not in a way where subconsciously you may be trying to “prove yourself” to someone else or make others happy at the expense of your own peace. But in a way where you know yourself, what your emotional and physical needs are, and you feel confident in taking the pressure off of yourself to enjoy the moment.
